PESHAWAR: As part of its ongoing operation against illegal water connections, the Water Sanitation and Services Company Kohat (WSSCK) has launched an operation in Jungle Khel and Malangabad areas of the district on Tuesday. WSSC Kohat teams, under the supervision of Manager Operations Naeem Ahmad, surveyed different areas and removed dozens of illegal water connections.  A specially constituted disconnection squad in collaboration with district administration, WSSC Kohat conducted the operation. Ahmad said that a vast majority of the water connections in Jungle Khel, around 98 per cent, were illegal. He added that locals had been warned and notices were also served to follow the legal procedure to get water connections. He stated the department will show flexibility in fees for those who wish to legalise their water connections, but the disconnection operations will be conducted daily basis until all illegal connections in the city are severed.
