QUETTA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif has said that he fully supports Lashkari Raisani’s demand for the constitution of a truth commission “so the nation can know who is behind terrorism in the country”.

“Pakistan can’t move forward and be developed till we have terrorism on our soil,” said the PML-N president while addressing journalists at the Sarawan House on Sunday.

Balochistan mourns Mastung carnage

Before talking to journalists, Shehbaz offered condolences to former Balochistan chief minister Aslam Raisani over the martyrdom of his brother Siraj Raisani and 129 others in the suicide attack on a corner meeting in Mastung on Friday.

Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed, Haji Lashkari Raisani, Rahila Hameed Khan Durrani, Younus Baloch and other PML-N leaders were also present.

He said, “Mastung blast was a tragic incident as every eye in the country is filled with tears because we lost 130 innocent people, including patriotic leader Siraj Raisani.”

Official meeting: Nation united against terror: Shehbaz

He said, “We are here to show solidarity with the Raisani family during these trying times.”

On elections, the PML-N president said, “The interim governments and the Election Commission of Pakistan are responsible for holding free and fair elections as impartial electoral process is the only way to strengthen the country.

“The role of the caretaker Punjab government during Nawaz Sharif’s arrival clearly makes suspicious the ECP and the interim government’s role in conducting free and fair elections.”

Sharif’s 'oblivion' to Balochistan crisis raises eyebrows

He said, “Election rigging won’t be beneficial for Pakistan’s future.”
Slamming PTI chief Imran Khan over his remarks against Sharif that whenever he comes a major terrorist attack happens in Pakistan, the former Punjab CM said, “Unfortunately, when the whole country is grieving the loss of lives in the Mastung massacre, Imran is still distracting people of Pakistan with false speeches.”

Shehbaz urged the people of the nation to unite against terrorism.
“All the four provinces should work together for the prosperity of Pakistan because peace will come only when we launch joint efforts to make our soil Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal’s Pakistan,” he concluded.
