At least four persons including three women and a child were injured after roofs of their houses collapsed in Muslim Town and Musazai areas of the provincial capital.
“The injured persons were shifted to LRH where one female is said to be in critical condition,” Zulfiqar Babakhail, spokesperson LRH told The Express Tribune.
Temperature is expected to drop further as monsoon currents penetrate eastern and central parts of the country.
Second phase of monsoon from July 20
According to Pakistan Meteorological Department, thunderstorms with gusty winds will engulf parts of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir and the federal capital.
The Met department record 62mm rain in Chakwal, 31mm in Kamra, 10mm in Peshawar, 5mm in Kohat and 32mm and 14mm in Islamabad’s Zero Point and Bokra areas.
Meanwhile, the southern provinces of the country will continue to experience hot and humid weather.
In Peshawar, the entrance exam for Khyber Medical College has been postponed due to worsening weather conditions in the city.
