In a mix up at a UAE morgue, an Indian family was handed the wrong body of an Indian expat who passed away in Abu Dhabi, Khaleej Times reported.
A relative of deceased Nidhin said the family realised there was a mix up when the coffin arrived in Calicut, Kerala on Friday via an Air India flight.
Nidhin was found dead on July 5.

It remains unclear, as to how the mix up of the bodies of both the UAE based Indian expats occurred, who died two days apart from one another.
An Indian embassy official has announced that everything is being done to help the families, saying they were unsure as to how the incident occurred but added that everything was being done to rectify the situation.
While Air India manager Ranjan Dutta for Abu Dhabi, said that all documents were submitted while returning the body.

Dutta labeled the incident as a “human error” saying the Nidhin’s body was supposed to be sent on Air India’s Calicut bound flight, while Krishnan's body was supposed to be returned via an Etihad Airways flight to Chennai.
He added that once clearance is obtained from the relevant authorities, Air India will extend its full support in resolving the matter at the earliest.
