It's sure beginning to seem like love truly is in the air around Hollywood. Don't get what we mean? Well, it's just that some of the industry's youngest couples have decided to make things official and tie the knot and we're having a hard time wrapping our heads around it.

Just recently, three young celebrity couples put a ring on it, after dating for less than a year. The latest have been 24-year-old Justin Bieber and his model girlfriend Hailey Baldwin, 21. Shortly before them were singer Ariana Grande and her fiance Pete Davidson, both 24, who got engaged after just one month together. And last but not the least, we've got 28-year-old Joe Jonas who's bride-to-be, Game of Thrones starlet Sophie Turner, was merely 21 when she told him "yes."

Now these young guns are definitely defying the odds. According to a recent study by The Pew Research Centre, the median age of first marriage in the US has risen over the years, reported E! News. The stats have gone up from 20 and 23 for women and men respectively in 1970s to 27 and 29. Another study carried out by online dating website eHarmony found that the average young American couple knows each other for about six and a half years before getting married.

This naturally makes us wonder why young Hollywood is so eager to settle down, when the rest of the world seems to want to delay it. But if you look closely, it might not be that surprising.

For instance, one of the main reasons people tend to wait before marrying is so they can establish themselves and sort their careers out before. And in today's world, it makes perfect sense for one to hold off being romantically involved with anyone until they are financially independent.

But these celebs have already achieved this goal much earlier, meaning they are able to shift their focus on to romance much earlier too. So while we were still fighting acne and trying not to blush every time our school crush walked past, the likes of Bieber  and Grande were already staging sell-out world tours. Consider it growing up in reverse?

Experts also highlight another very plausible reason for early marriage in Hollywood: it may be the single traditional thing young celebrities can achieve in their superstar lives. Not to mention, it’s gets lonely at the top, as Bieber once said in an interview with NME. "You get lonely, you know, when you're on the road. People see the glam and the amazing stuff, but they don't know the other side,” he said. "'I get depressed and feel isolated. I would not wish this upon anyone."

Of course, none of this is to say that the couples will live happily ever after. Many ties, the flames start to dim even before the vows are exchanged. Bieber and Baldwin too, dated on and off for three years and had only been reconciled for a few weeks before their engagement last weekend.

"Ever since they reunited, they have been inseparable and Justin knows he can't live without Hailey," a source said. "Justin and Hailey had talked about marriage before but Hailey didn't think it would happen so quickly."

Young Hollywood seems to be living by the iconic line, "When you realise you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible."
