Reports suggest the tumultuous weather conditions will persist during the next couple of days. On Monday the maximum temperature recorded was 40 degrees Celsius.
The Met office stated that the second spell of monsoon rains were to be expected during this week.
Further, monsoon rains will also occur in Kashmir and north Punjab in the next 48 hours.
Death toll reaches 15 as torrential rains lash Lahore
Thunderstorms coupled with rains are expected in Islamabad, north Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha and Faisalabad) and Kashmir from Thursday to Sunday.
Heavy rainfall is also expected in isolated places such as Gujranwala, Lahore, Rawalpindi and adjoining areas from July 13 to July 15.
Currently, a seasonal low lies over North Balochistan with its trough extending towards the southeast, while a shallow westerly wave is affecting the northern areas.
