Rangers arrest five suspects during raids in Karachi, Badin and Ghotki

Man wounded by robbers in Korangi dies

KARACHI: At least five suspects were arrested on Sunday by the Rangers during targeted raids in Karachi, Badin and Ghotki districts.

According to a Rangers spokesperson, two suspects, Asif alias Madi and Wasim alias Suntiya, were arrested during a raid conducted on a tip-off in New Karachi Industrial Area. They were allegedly involved in various cases of street crime.

During another raid, the paramilitary force arrested a man, Yasin, from Memon Goth in Karachi. According to the spokesperson, he was involved in drug peddling.

The Rangers also conducted joints raids with police in rural areas of Badin and Ghotki districts. The spokesperson claimed that the paramilitary force and police arrested a suspect, Khadim Shah, from Ghotki and seized hashish from his possession. He was wanted in four cases involving murder, drug peddling and gambling charges.

In the joint raid in Badin, the law enforcers arrested an accused, Mushtaq alias Achar Mullah. According to the paramilitary force, he was involved in around 27 cases involving attempt to murder, gambling, possession of illegal weapons and drug peddling.



The Rangers handed the suspects over to the police for the initiation of legal proceedings.

Wounded man dies

Meanwhile, a man, who was shot and wounded on Saturday by bandits for offering resistance during an attempted robbery in Korangi, succumbed to his injuries during treatment at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).

According to SHO Enayat Marwat, at least three people, 26-year-old Mobin, son of Mehboob Ali, 25-year-old Zafarullah and 26-year-old Nasarullah, were injured when unidentified men opened fire over facing resistance during the robbery. The injured were moved to JPMC where Mobin breathed his last on Sunday. The deceased was a resident of Korangi and hailed from Faisalabad.

According to doctors, the condition of the other two injured was out of danger.
