QUETTA: National Party Chairman and former federal minister Hasil Bizenjo has said that the law and order situation during the upcoming general elections will be worse than it was in the 2002’s elections held under the dictatorship of Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf.

“Back in 2013 when the NP came to power in Balochistan, the whole province was non-functional but we accepted it as a challenge and restored law and order,” said the NP chairman while addressing a gathering at the party’s election cell in Turbat on Friday.

NP revived peace in its tenure: leader

Former chief minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch, Senator Khuda Akram Dashti, Kech District Chairman Fida Hussain Dashti and other NP leaders accompanied the NP chairman.

The former federal minister said, “We made functional all institutions that were full of flaws, resumed quality education in the whole of Makran division and built international universities for the people of Balochistan.”

He said that the NP utilised its utmost efforts in providing relief to the people under the resources available.

Electioneering: former CM says NP brought development despite challenges

He said there was a time when the deputy commissioners and DPOs were reluctant to perform their duties in the Makran division, but “today the law and order situation has improved”.

Wooing the people of Makran division into voting for his party, Hasil Bizenjo said, “NP is the real representative of the people of Makran and after elections leaders of the Balochistan Awami party (BAP) will vanish from the province, while other political parties that truly strive for the rights of the people will remain.”

NP wants all institutions under parliament’s control

He said, “BAP will lose its steam after the general elections as witnessed in the past that political parties like the Functional league and the Q league turned into political orphans.”

Lambasting BAP, former CM Baloch said, “People of Balochistan are well aware of the performance of NP as we brought positive and effective reforms in Balochistan.

“Our government is not responsible for the formation of BAP. We already knew that a new political party was being formed in Balochistan.”

On the law and order situation and attacks on election campaigns in Makran, Senator Dashti said, “Those attempting to sabotage election activities in Balochistan are benefiting undemocratic forces. We strongly condemn the attacks on election candidates in Balochistan.”
