KARACHI: Naqeebullah Mehsud's father wrote a letter to the inspector-general of police and prosecutor-general requesting a change of the prosecutor and investigation officer in the Naqeebullah murder case.

The victim's father sent the letters to the IG and prosecutor-general through his lawyer, Faisal Siddiqui.

In the letter, Naqeebullah's father has said that the investigation officer isn't fulfilling his role aptly as he did not appear before the court in many of the hearings. The performance of the investigation officer is directly benefitting the accused, while the prosecutor attended court without preparation, the letter read.

The prosecutor's lack of knowledge of the case is benefitting the accused, read the letter, adding that the bail of the accused can be approved due to the non-serious attitudes of the prosecutor and investigation officer.

According to the letter Naqeebullah's father demanded that the investigation officer must attend hearings regularly and unveil the truth.

An experienced prosecutor should be appointed so that valid analysis can be done, Naqeebullah's father requested in the letter, adding that action should be taken against those who continue to display a non-serious attitude.
