PTI leader Jahangir Tarin said the accountability court's verdict has debunked the ‘Mujhe kyun Nikala’ narrative of Nawaz Sharif.
The ousted prime minister has been saying that he was disqualified for no reason. Now Sharif should know that he has been ousted for being a “thief and money launderer”, Tareen said.
NS's fabricated narrative that he got ousted only for holding an Iqama, has been torn to shreds after NAB Court's historic verdict. 'Mujhe Kyun Nikala Sharif' finally gets the answer that he has been jailed for being a Chor & a Money Launderer. Great victory for Pakistan 😊

Another PTI leader Dr Arif Alvi called it a "historic victory for the people of Pakistan which should serve as a warning to all those who looted and plundered the nation’s money".
Justice has been served to the people of Pakistan. A warning to all those who looted and plundered and to those who are in politics to stay away from corruption in the future. You cannot steal from the people of Pakistan and go free. Other too must be caught
— Dr. Arif Alvi (@ArifAlvi) July 6, 2018
Other PTI leaders Asad Umar and Babar Awan welcomed the decision as “victory for the people of Pakistan” and “jail for Nawaz”.

After decades of continuously looting poor people of Pakistan while being shielded by kangaroo courts, the Sharif Empire has finally demolished at the hands of independent judiciary paving the way for across the board accountability in the country.#AvenfieldReference

Babar Awan, however, said Sharif has inflicted huge losses on the national kitty, so the fine should have been heavier and jail term longer.
جتنا نقصان نواز شریف نے قومی خزانے کو پہنچایا ہے، سزا 14 سال قید بنتی تھی اور جرمانہ بھی زیادہ بنتا تھا

On its official Twitter handle, the PTI said Nawaz would now go to Adiyala Jail.
Adiyala jail will be Mian sahab's abode for the next decade now. #NextStopAdiyala https://t.co/DqONRflAid

Some PPP politicians said the PML-N was reaping what the Sharifs had sowed years ago.

Today Nawaz Sharif must be regretting the plot to overthrow SMBB govt. He must be conscience-stricken for the
political victimization and fake cases against the brave Shaheed Benazir Bhutto which she faced courageously!#AvenfieldReference pic.twitter.com/zTr02YzwV7
Political analysts said the sentencing would deal a big blow to the PML-N and its politics.
The PMLN is now too much of a spent force to bank solely on a victimization narrative strategy. And yet many of its so-called strengths-like the economy-are becoming vulnerabilities.

Twitteratis also celebrated the judgment against the Sharifs, saying the looted money would be returned to Pakistan.
A momentous day. A former PM and his family convicted for corruption. Accountability across the board is a must for any country to progress. Strong institutions are a necessity.#PakistanZindabad

However, not everybody is happy with the accountability court verdict. Some Twitter users and politicians said on the micro-blogging site that 'selective accountability' would serve no purpose.
Always glad for accountability, but it has to be across the board. Army, judiciary, bureaucracy next?

Such decisions will only harm the slowly evolving democratic process, whether be it in terms of delaying elections or political victimisation of a single party. https://t.co/64Regv5oOM

We knew that they would punish Sharif for asserting his democratic rights and civilian authority. But Sharif has decided to confront the military establishment for the sake of democracy and Pakistan's future.#AvenfieldReferencehttps://t.co/mXkiwi5V2Ihttps://t.co/fqYo5mDzdq
