The Election Commision of Pakistan (ECP) on Saturday said it could prevent those interim ministers from performing their duties who have not yet submitted their asset details to the electoral body, Express News reported.
As per Election Act 2017, the caretaker ministers are required to submit their asset details along with those of their family members within three days of taking the oath.
However, the majority of the interim ministers have failed to submit their asset details to the ECP.
The ECP expressed displeasure at the absence of asset details by the ministers in question and issued a warning that if they do not submit their asset details as per the law, they could also be stopped from performing their duties.
The ECP set June 30 as the deadline for the allotment of election symbols, while June 29 was the last day to withdraw candidature for elections.
The ECP is expected to publish the final list of contestants on Saturday.
