18 suspects including eight gamblers arrested

Islamabad Police recovered 1.5 kilogramme hashish, 10 liquor bottles, two litre homebrewed liquor and weapons

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police have arrested 18 suspects including eight gamblers during high vigilance in the city and recovered 1.5 kilogramme hashish, 10 liquor bottles, two litre homebrewed liquor and weapons from them, a police spokesperson said.

He said that a team under supervision of Station House Officer of Koral police station including ASI Fawad Khalid and others raided the gambling den and arrested eight suspects red-handed. Police recovered stake money worth Rs40,000, eight mobile phones and other valuables from the nabbed persons identified as Yaseen, Nadir, Altaf, Zia, Naeem, Naeem Akhtar, Siddique and Khalid Mehmud.

ASI Muhammad Anwer arrested a bootlegger Basharat Masih and recovered 10 wine bottles from him. ASI Muhammad Ameer from Bhara Kau police station arrested Afzal Masih besides recovering two litres liquor.
