ANF organises awareness walk

LAHORE: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Punjab Regional Directorate organised an awareness walk on Tuesday in connection with the International Day Against Drug Abuse. Force Commander ANF Punjab Brigadier Khalid Mahmood Goraya was the chief guest on the occasion. The participants were carrying banners and placards inscribed with different slogans against abuse of drugs. Speaking on the occasion, Goraya said that it is a joint social and national responsibility to deal with the problem. “If we want to stop the increasing use of drugs, we should struggle for the elimination of the menace from society.” Giving details of the performance of ANF, he said that the ANF Punjab had registered 139 cases since January 2018 and arrested 159 persons and recovered 80 kilogrammes of heroin, 655 kilogrammes of hashish, 115 kilogrammes of opium and 17 kilogrammes of other material from their possession.
