ECP okays massive bureaucratic reshuffle in provinces
He directed the monitoring officers for general elections 2018 to ensure implementation of election code of conduct issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in their respective areas in the district.
Addressing a training session of monitoring officers nominated by the ECP here, the DC said holding of fair and transparent general election was inevitable for the development, prosperity and security of the country. Election duties should not only be considered professional responsibilities but also social ones so the situation necessitated all-out cooperation from all the departments concerned with the ECP, he added.
Candidates seen flouting ECP rules for hoardings
The session was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Rao Atif Raza, Assistant Commissioner Ashar Iqbal, AC Cantt Ambar Gilani, AC Saddar Tasneem Ali Khan, AC Gujar Khan Mahreen Faheem, AC Kahuta Ansar Hayat, AC City, Liaquat Ali, AC Kotli Sattian, Taxila, Kallar Syedan, representatives of Election Commission and a large number of the monitoring officers. Meanwhile, the city administration staff was busy removing publicity material that did not comply with the ECP parameters.
