14-year-old injuried as local group opens fire on PML-N workers in Punjab

A contingent of police reached the site of the incident but failed to arrest the suspects

Members of Punjab's Nazeer Jutt group opened fire on Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supporters, injuring a 14-year-old, outside PML-N candidate Nazeer Arain's office in Burewala.

The group members oppose the PML-N candidate and ended up in a scuffling with members of the party. A 14-year-old boy received severe injuries in the ensuing scuffle and was shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital. A contingent of police reached the site of the incident but the suspects managed to flee.

Separately, the PML-N candidate from NA-124, Hamza Shehbaz, initiated his election campaign on Monday. The PML-N leader will inaugurate the central office at Bhatti Chowk on June 27. With the inauguration of his office, Hamza will formally begin the campaign, Shehbaz's spokesperson confirmed.
