Five of a family murdered

Family was asleep when an unidentified and armed assailant broke into their home

SARGODHA: Five people belonging to a single family were murdered, while another person was injured in Bhalwal police limits on Saturday. Reportedly, Muhammad Tufail and his family were asleep when an unidentified, armed assailant broke into their home and opened fire. As a result of the fire, Tufail, his wife Majeeda Bibi and his children Kashif, Samar and Sana died on the spot. A stray bullet also injured a young boy named Arshad, police revealed. The deceased and the injured were shifted to the THQ hospital. Tufail’s oldest son Muhammad Shahid, who survived the incident, was taken into police custody.
