LAHORE: A girl thrashed a traffic warden after he sexually harassed her in Shahdara.

The victim claimed that she was on her way to Kot Abdul Malik in a rickshaw when the vehicle was flagged down by a traffic warden. After the rickshaw stopped, the warden asked the girl for her phone number.

Upon her refusal, he tried to harass the girl. Infuriated by his inappropriate conduct, the girl started to hurl abuses and started thrashing the warden.

As a result of the commotion, a large number of traffic wardens gathered at the scene. The girl further claimed that instead of handing the offending warden over to the police, his colleagues aided him in fleeing the scene.

Meanwhile, a pedestrian was injured after being hit by a vehicle driven by a Japanese Consulate employee on Saturday.

The victim, identified as Nauman, was crossing the road near Jain Mandar Chowk, when the incident occurred, stated police.

The victim sustained minor injuries and has been taken to the hospital, they added.
