A video doing rounds on social media since April shows Hindu nationalists disrupting a Muslim congregation during Friday prayers outside a mosque.

The crowd also harassed Muslim worshippers while raising slogans and also took away prayers rugs.

The right-wing activists disrupted at least ten groups of Muslims who were offering prayers in the open on the outskirts of Delhi, reported The National.

Extremists also broke the sound system and chanted "Bolo Jai Shree Ram".

"Masjid kis liye banaya hai?" [Why did you make mosques then?] the Hindu nationalists shouted after seeing Muslim men praying outside a mosque.

This was the second such incident in April. On April 20, a prayer session was interrupted in Wazirabad, Gurugram. A cell-phone video of the incident shows members of Sanyukt Hindu Sangharsh Samiti, a collective of a dozen Hindu nationalist groups and political parties, instructing a crowd of praying Muslims to rise and disperse from an otherwise-empty square of land.

The Samiti’s members shouted Hindu slogans and declared, in Hindi: “No one will offer namaz here.”

India has seen a rising trend of religious intolerance since the right-wing government of Narendra Modi came to power.
