Six terrorists killed, two soldiers martyred in South Waziristan raid
The raid was conducted on intelligence tip-off regarding presence of terrorists in Ladha
Six terrorists were killed and two army soldiers martyred in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Ladha area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s South Waziristan tribal district on Saturday, the military said.
The raid triggered a heavy exchange of fire, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement. Nanakar, a high-value target responsible for attacks on local residents and tribal elders, was among those died in today’s raid, it added.
The raid was conducted on an intelligence tip-off regarding presence of terrorists, who entered the Spina Mela village under the guise of temporarily displaced persons (TDP).

The martyred soldiers have been identified as Havaldar Razzaq Khan and Havaldar Mumtaz Hussain.
The ISPR further said that a cache of weapons and communication sets, used for communication with terrorist handlers in Afghanistan’s Paktia province, were also recovered.
On June 15, three soldiers were martyred in attacks in Shawwal, North Waziristan, while five terrorists killed in an exchange of fire.
“Terrorists from across the Pak-Afghan border attempted multiple physical and fire raids on Pakistan Army posts along Pak-Afghan border in Shawal, North Waziristan,” the ISPR said at the time.
Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, a military offensive against the “latent threat of terrorism”, was launched in February 2017.
