The Pakistan Navy helicopter provided assistance to stranded Iranian fishing boat in North Arabian Sea – 187km off Ormara in Gwadar district Balochistan.

The Navy team promptly launched search and rescue operation soon after getting the information about distressed dhow 'Al Naeemi' bearing Iranian flag with 13 crew members, including fishermen, onboard, a statement said.

After rigorous search efforts in prevailing rough sea conditions at the open sea, the stranded dhow was located.

According to the communiqué, the boat crew members were provided with all the necessary assistance as they were dehydrated and also required medical care and edibles.

The rescue team onboard helicopter provided edibles and medicines to the crew members of the Iranian fishing dhow.

Pakistan Navy rescues Portuguese family off Somali coast

Besides safeguarding maritime interests of Pakistan, Pakistan Navy has always been at the forefront to provide Humanitarian Assistance at sea.

On May 2, a Portuguese family stranded off the Somali coast was rescued in an open sea-aid operation by the Navy team.

The rescue efforts were carried out by PNS Alamgir, 180 miles off the coast of the east African nation. The stranded family was provided with drinking water, rations, and fuel.
