Pindi hopes to finalise budget in June
The Rawalpindi municipal corporation asks departments to send proposals for its budget for the fiscal year 2018-19

The Rawalpindi municipal corporation has asked its various departments to send proposals for its budget for the fiscal year 2018-19. The budget is expected to be presented in the last days of June in a meeting of the municipal corporation.In a circular issued to all of its departments, the municipal corporation has sought budgetary proposals including demand for funds, recommendations and recovery details. The departments have been directed to send the information to the finance department which will prepare the budget document. Moreover, the municipal corporation has directed that excise and taxation wing to transfer the tax it had collected last year. Following the directive, the department transferred the Rs115 million it had collected to the municipal corporation. In the outgoing fiscal year, the municipal corporation had presented a budget of Rs3.165 billion. The budget included an allocation of Rs225.5 million for paying pensions while development funds were enhanced from Rs500 million to Rs650 million.
