Telenor Pakistan wrapped up its #ShareYourMeal initiative that set out to eradicate hunger in the country with a grand ceremony in Karachi. The meals were distributed to needy families during Ramazan in Peshawar, Quetta, Islamabad and Lahore. It is remarkable to see the gains this initiative has made in the past three years through the generous contributions made by their followers on social media platforms, such as Facebook & Twitter.

Telenor’s tagline “Iss Ramzan koi plate khali nahi jayegi” was bolstered this year by its digital video release and an exhaustive digital campaign that highlighted the brand’s commitment towards making a meaningful contribution towards those in need. #ShareYourMeal this year also received a lot of earned mileage from various social media influencers who worked closely with the brand to propagate the campaign's message.

Starting in 2015, Telenor Pakistan vowed to make certain donations for every Sehr and Iftar meal picture that was uploaded on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram with the TweetAMeal hashtag. In 2016, it partnered with Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal and took its initiative to Thar, one of the most underprivileged areas of Pakistan.

In 2017, the campaign name was changed to #ShareYourMeal; Telenor Pakistan partnered with the Pakistan Red Crescent Society to disburse food rations to thousands of people in the hunger-stricken city of Bannu. This year again, this initiative provided food rations to deserving families in Quetta, Peshawar, Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi.

"We extend our sincerest gratitude to the people of Pakistan for making #ShareYourMeal a massively successful campaign through different social media platforms this year which resulted in serving more than 3000 beneficiaries,” said Irfan Wahab Khan, CEO, Telenor Pakistan. “We are here to empower the Pakistani society and help it fight its longstanding challenges that include hunger and poverty. #ShareYourMeal is our humble contribution to fighting these challenges and bringing food to the deserving in the holy month of Ramazan.”
