ISLAMABAD: Steps are being taken for improving the agriculture sector in Balochistan in an effort to enhance the production of foodgrains in the province. A spokesperson for the provincial Agriculture Department said the existing agriculture training institute in Quetta was being revamped at a cost of Rs500 million, Radio Pakistan reported. He said a special programme had been launched to enhance the production of various crops through research and innovation in the province at a cost of Rs364 million. Workshops are also being held in Kalat, Musa Khel and Jaffarabad districts to give useful advice to peasants for adopting modern means of cultivation.
