Chinese envoy to India Luo Zhaohui on Monday proposed a trilateral summit between China, India and Pakistan on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), reported ANI.

"If China-Russia-Mongolia trilateral is possible then why don't we try working China-India-Pakistan out," he was quoted as saying while addressing the media at the Institute of Chinese Studies.

The envoy stressed that communication, cooperation, contacts and control could help promote strained relations between China and India.

CPEC is not just for Pakistan: Chinese newspaper

Earlier this year, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping met in Wuhan to discuss bilateral issues and narrow down the differences between two Asian giants.

They later met at sidelines of SCO and decided that the second round of informal meeting will be held in India next year.

Shah Alam | 5 years ago | Reply It's disgraceful how Chinese are always begging Indians to join CPEC. The facr is no matter how hard they try, Indians are smart enough not to fall in Chinese debt trap.
powayman | 5 years ago | Reply Presents China as a facilitator or peace - but most of Chinese neighbors would laugh at that concept. If China makes a firm peace with India then it might present itself as a mediator - but until that happens it makes little sense for India to sit down with two enemies.
