Bilawal in London, sends flowers to ailing Kulsoom Nawaz

Former first lady is said to have not regained consciousness since suffering cardiac arrest on Thursday

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, who is on a private visit to London, sent a flower bouquet to ailing Begum Kulsoom Nawaz in hospital on Saturday, wishing her early recovery.

A section of the media has incorrectly reported that Bilawal personally visited deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s ailing wife in the London hospital.

The PPP chairman is scheduled to return to Pakistan on Monday evening.



Kulsoom Nawaz was shifted to the intensive care unit of the London hospital after her health deteriorated on June 14.

“Ami had a sudden cardiac arrest this morning when we were on the flight and (has been) on the ventilator since,” her daughter Maryam Nawaz shared on Twitter. She requested well-wishers to pray for her health.

The former first lady is said to have not regained consciousness since.
