Understanding your body is the key to looking good and a trait found amongst all impeccably dressed fashionistas. While people shy away from talking about their bodies, these brave souls explain how they work their anatomies to their advantage
How would you describe your body type?
My body is lean with a small frame, but I’m busty so finding the right top is a problem sometimes.
Has your body type changed over the last five years?
Over the past few years my body has barely changed. I keep losing and gaining pounds but there’s been no drastic change, fortunately.
How has your style changed over the years?
Style is constantly evolving for everyone as new trends come and go, the key is to personalise trends. Over the years I have become more individualistic as compared to trendy and a ‘less is more’ kind of person, so it reflects in my style now.
What item in your closet do you wear the most?
Probably my black Celine bag – it’s big and goes with almost every casual day to day outfit.
What is the one piece of clothing that you would never wear?
Our sense of aesthetics changes as trends do, so perhaps there’s nothing I’d rule out. But yes, sneakers with wedding attire are a major no for me.
In your opinion what is the biggest mistake a person can make while dressing?
Wearing too many brands and logos at once looks flashy and is not something I like. Blindly following trends and not considering one’s body type is also a no-go zone for me.
What’s your favourite item in your closet?
There are many!
What’s a style every woman should try at least once in her life?
An all-black dress!
If you could have any TV or movie character’s wardrobe, whose would you choose?
Blaire Waldorf’s or Carrie Bradshaw’s! If you look at more recent ones then I really like Fallen Carrington’s style from the show ‘Dynasty’.
Which silhouettes suit your body the most?
High waisted skirts, pants or anything that accentuates my waist.
