Kidnapping Case: Bailable warrants issued against IB director, others

Family paid Rs5 million as ransom through pay order with the amount being transferred to the respondents’ accounts.

The additional district and sessions judge, east, Hafiza Usman, issued bailable arrest warrants against the Intelligence Bureau director and others in a kidnapping case.


On Saturday, the judge admitted a criminal complaint filed by the victim, Haji Muhammad Zakria Seth’s, wife Amina. The arrest warrants were issued for Intelligence Bureau director, Manzoor Mughal ADIG Gul Hameed Samo, DSP Tahir Noorani, DSP Agha Asghar Ali Pathan and others along with a sum of Rs50,000 each.

The petitioner said that the respondent officials kidnapped her husband and two sons, who were returning from their factory in Korangi Industrial Area on June 6, 2007. The alleged kidnappers were on two police mobile-units and they stole foreign currency. The family paid the Rs5 million as ransom through a pay order and has evidence that the amount was transferred to the respondents’ accounts, which proves they are guilty, she said.
