Actor talks upcoming film ‘Na Band Na Baraati,’ what fans can expect after it

Film-maker Mahmood Akhtar’s upcoming romantic-comedy Na Band Na Baraati is all set to hit theatres this Eid and its cast and crew are leaving no stone unturned to promote the film.
Na Band Na Baraati stars big names such as Mikaal Zulfiqar, Atiqa Odho, Azra Mohiuddin and Ali Kazmi opposite Shayan Khan, Komal Farooqi, Qavi Khan, Nayab Khan, Kashif Ahmed and Saram Jaffry. Based in Canada, the film showcases the lives of a group of Pakistanis living in Toronto and promises to offer a mix of culture, compassion and love, alongside a whole lot of mischief and entertainment.
Speaking with The Express Tribune, Kazmi divulged some important details about his character in Na Band Na Baraati. “Well, I play Abdul who is a mechanic by profession. He is the antagonist of the film,” shared the Chalay Thay Saath star. “Abdul is actually the most humorous and amusingly unconventional character I have ever played on screen to this day, I think.”

Asked what fans can expect from him in the future, Kazmi’s chose to maintain suspense. “As of now, I have a couple of films and drama serials in the pipeline but that’s not all,” he teased. “There is something being cooked up for Hollywood as well so fingers crossed! I can’t wait for you guys to see it.”
Kazmi also revealed that Akhtar had to undergo emergency cardiac surgery during the filming of Na Band Na Baraati and therefore, the team wrote and shot the film together. “Hence, the making of this project is very special indeed, as we have all put our hearts and souls into it.”
