Two held for occupying land

Paperwork fraudulently obtained by absconding accused Tariq

MULTAN: The police has registered an FIR against three accused and arrested two of them on charges of allegedly submitting fake documents to illegally occupy of a plot owned by National Press Trust (NPT). The property is located at a prime location in Multan City, a Bohar Gate police official told The Express Tribune.

The official said that the FIR was registered on the report of NPT Chairperson Tanweer Kiyani, who stated that in compliance of an order of Supreme Court concerning the plot measuring five Kanal and one Marla, she had approached the land record centre to obtain ‘fard’ (land documents) on May 25, 2018.

However, it transpired that ‘Fard’ had already been issued in favour of a Muhammad Tariq, who allegedly submitted fake documents of Progressive Papers Limited (PPL) with stamp papers carrying signatures of some persons who were fraudulently shown as directors of the PPL.



The fake documents submitted by accused Tariq were part of the record available with the land record centre.  She maintained that accused Tariq had submitted fake documents with forged signatures. Moreover, two of his accomplices, Faiz and Muhammad Shafique, recently attempted to illegally occupy the plot owned by NPT by constructing 50 cement pillars.

She mentioned that Manzoor Hussain and Sheikh Saeed, directors of Press Information Department (PID) Multan, were witnesses and aware of the matter.
