“The Balochistan police is utilising all its resources to provide security to the people of Quetta,” said Balochistan Inspector General of Police Muazzam Jah Ansari while addressing a ceremony of recruiting eagle force personnel in Quetta on Thursday.
CM Bizenjo provides much-needed boost to police force
The Balochistan IG said, “New recruits of the Eagle Force have been trained by the Pakistan Army, which has strengthened their capabilities in terms of preventing terrorist attacks in Quetta.”
The newly-trained squad of the Eagle Force took out a flag march on various roads of the provincial capital and ended at Regional Police Office Quetta.
The IG said, “In view of the last days of the holy month of Ramazan, we have extended the duty hours of this force. Eight hundred well-trained force will be on Quetta’s streets to provide security to the people and will help curb terrorism and street crimes.”
He said, “CCTV cameras are being installed in Quetta, while Safe City Project is about to begin which will help pursue criminals and identify their locations.”
Security forces conduct raids, recover weapons in Balochistan
On IBOs against terrorist networks, IG Ansari said, “Following tip-offs and alerts from the Frontier Corps, we have been carrying out operations in Quetta and have busted several terrorist networks.”
Ansari said, “Targeted killings of our LEAs personnel will not dampen the morale of the police force. We have vowed to purge the menace of terrorism from Balochistan and for the purpose we need the support of the masses as well.”
On police upgradation, the IG said, “As the Balochistan chief minister pledged to upgrade the police force, I have informed the government that the summary does not need to be approved by the cabinet, the government only needs to release Rs1 billion for the upgradation package.”
