113 nomination papers received for women, minorities in K-P

The nomination papers were filed for both, the national and the provincial assemblies

PESHAWAR: With the top poll body extending the last date for submitting nomination papers to June 11, a total 113 candidates have submitted their nomination papers for the reserved seats of women and minorities.

The nomination papers were filed for both, the national and the provincial assemblies.

According to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chapter, a total of 65 candidates have so far submitted their nomination papers for Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) assembly seats reserved for women.

Similarly, for the reserved seats of women from K–P in the national assembly, a total of 26 candidates have so far submitted their nomination papers.

Empowering women of Pakistan

Amongst minorities, 22 candidates have submitted their nomination papers in the ECP office for K-P assembly seats reserved for minorities. The K-P Assembly has 22 seats reserved for women. In the national assembly, K-P has only nine reserved seats for women.

The provincial K-P Assembly has three reserved seats for minorities.
