World Environment Day celebrated

In Multan district administration organised an awareness walk to mark World Environment Day

SIALKOT/ MULTAN: World Environment Day was celebrated across the province, in order to create awareness about environmental pollution, on Tuesday.

A seminar was held at the municipal corporation office in Sialkot. The event was organised by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Pakistan in collaboration with the Punjab Intermediate Cities Investment Improvement Programme (PICIIP), the municipal corporation and the Environment Protection Department (EPD) Sialkot.

“Protecting the government is one of the major challenges for the government; our country is facing environmental degradation,” said Sialkot Mayor Chaudhry Tauheed Akhtar.

In Multan, the district administration organised an awareness walk to mark World Environment Day. The walk, which was led by the Multan Deputy Commissioner Zahid Sohail, started from Raza Hall and ended at Kutchery Chowk.
