Speaking to media outside an accountability court hearing corruption references filed against the Sharif family by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) following the Supreme Court's (SC) judgement in the Panama Papers case, Nawaz said he watched parts of ISPR's press conference and the part which showed Major General Ghafoor showing a chart showing certan individuals retweeting 'anti-state' content.

“Shutting down channels and issuing threats to the media are now memories. We will form a national commission to take necessary steps if we come to power," said the ousted premier.
Nawaz also lamented the Lahore High Court’s (LHC) verdict rejecting nomination papers drafted by the Parliament ahead of the general polls and was then informed by journalists that the LHC verdict was already suspended by the country’s top court.
Asked about the notice sent to NAB for a press release outlining alleged money laundering, Nawaz said the anti-graft watchdog had yet to respond to the notice.

Reflecting on Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’s five-year constitutional term, the party’s supreme leader said at least 10,000MWs of electricity had been added to the national grid. He blamed the interim government for the recent spell of power outages.
Nawaz reiterated that there was no load-shedding during PML-N's tenure and if the interim government is facing an electricity shortage, it’s their responsibility.
The former premier also expressed his desire to visit his ailing wife, Kulsoom Nawaz, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment in London.
Meanwhile, the accountability court dismissed an application filed by the defense counsel seeking postponement of final arguments in the corruption references until the completion of recording of evidence and statements by the accused.
