Police arrested the accused and have registered four cases
BAHAWALPUR:
The leader of an interprovincial gang was arrested during an operation conducted by police
on Sunday.
Ahmedpur East City Police Station SHO Mairaj Khan along with a police squad conducted a raid and arrested the gang leader.
Officials also confiscated fake identification cards, along with laptops, mobile phones, a pistol and almost nine kilogrammes of hashish found in the possession of Taha Iqbal.
Allegedly, the accused used to pose as SP Vigilance or Punjab Anti-Narcotics Director and used to loot citizens. He also used to pose as the Chief Minister’s Protocol Officer and used to take bribes in exchange for finding people employment.
Additionally, he also used to deal drugs, said police.
Police arrested the accused and have registered four cases against him. DPO Bahwalpur Mustansar Feroz said that operations against professional criminals will continue. We will not be lenient in this regard, he emphasised.
