Zero Point trade gate reopens after five months

The Zero Point gate had been closed five months ago due to unknown reasons by Iran

QUETTA: In a major development, the Iranian authorities reopened the mutual trade gate Zero Point located in the Taftan area of Chagai district after five months.

The Zero Point gate had been closed five months ago due to unknown reasons by Iran. Thousands of labourers and hundreds of businessman went out of business and shortage of Iranian commodities was felt during the period.

Iran assures of reopening Zero Point Gate

People of Taftan expressed their happiness over resumption of trade activities through the Zero Point gate. “Export of Pakistani commodities will commence soon,” they added.

The development took place after a meeting between Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani and Iran Ambassador Mehdi Hunardost two days ago. They had discussed Pak-Iran trade gate’s closure in the meeting.
