Court accepts plea against merit list

Court has directed the commission to consider the petitioner’s merit against the announced post

MIRPUR: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) High Court on Friday accepted a writ petition against the merit list of AJK Public Service Commission (PSC) announced for the post of Lecturer of Chemistry in pursuance of advertisement two years back against the quota reserved for Bhimber district of AJK.

The court has directed the commission to consider the petitioner’s merit against the announced post by excluding the private respondent.

Single bench of the AJK High Court comprising Justice Azhar Saleem Babar issued the order on the writ petition filed by Masood Iqbal r/o Tattali Bandala Tehsil, Samahni, district Bhimber, challenging the merit list of AJK PSC announced for the post of Lecturer of Chemistry in pursuance of advertisement No.02/2016 against the quota reserved for Bhimber district.

It might be added that a candidate holding dual domicile certificates issued by district authorities of Kasur and Bhimber districts was selected by the AJK PSC as Lecturer in Chemistry for AJK Education Department, against the quota reserved for Bhimber district.

The petitioner Masood Iqbal had made the parties in the case including AJK government through its Public Service Commission chief secretary, Secretary Public Service Commission chairman, Higher Education (Colleges) secretary, local government, Public Instructions Colleges director, Principal Boys Govt. Degree College Samahni, District Bhimber, M.Qasim s/o Muhammad Shafi, House No.C-6/9 Muhalla Gulberg Colony Kasur Pakistan and Bhimber Deputy Commissioner, Azad Kashmir in the case as respondents.  APP
