IGP inaugurates provincial foreigner security cell

Punjab IG briefed on every possible security measures taken to provide security to foreigners

LAHORE: Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Captain (retd) Arif Nawaz Khan inaugurated the Provincial Foreigner Security Cell at Lahore airport on Friday.

The unit has been set up by Special Protection Unit (SPU) of the Punjab Police. A briefing was given to the Punjab IG every possible security measures have been taken to provide security to foreigners.

A briefing was also given to the police chief about the mobility of foreign guests and delegations in detail. The IG Punjab said all the Chinese nationals working on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects should be provided foolproof security. He said every foreigner who visits Pakistan was the guest of the nation and it was top priority of the SPU to ensure their safety and security.

He said the security officials should be provided modern weapons, fast-moving vehicles, night vision goggles and other such things on priority basis.
