Loralai BRC students shine the brightest in Balochistan Matric exams

First position students get cash prize of Rs150,000 each

QUETTA: The matriculation results 2018 have been announced in Balochistan in which 80.6 per cent students succeeded in passing Class IX while 92.9 per cent students managed to clear Class X. The Balochistan Residential College (BRC) maintained its reputation as its students bagged the top 20 positions.
During a press conference on Thursday, the board chairman praised the exemplary success of Loralai BRC students.
According to the Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education’s annual results, Loralai BRC’s Maula Daad secured first position with 1,035 marks, Maryam Fatima bagged second position with 1,028 marks, while Ajmal Khan scored 1,024 marks.

The students bagging first positions were awarded Rs150,000 cash prize each, students coming in second were awarded Rs125,000 each while Rs100,000 each was handed over to students coming in third.
Students who bagged the remaining 17 positions included: BRC’s Faiq Ali, Muhabbat Khan, Fayyaz Ali, Jameel Ahmed Khan, Faiz Muhammad, Amir Khan, Abdul Khaliq, Asmatullah, Aijaz Ahmed, Bahadur Khan, Abdul Qadeer, Amjad Ali Shah, Sanaullah, Fazal-e-Babri, Balaach, Shafqatullah, Qudratullah, Bahadur Khan, Faisal Khan, Hameedullah, Noor Ahmed, Muhammad Khalid Khan, Ahsanullah and Muhammad Siddique.
In the top 20 were Loralai BRC Ibn-e-Sina Public High School’s Bibi Kulsoom, Government Girls High School Irrigation Colony’s Sheela Khajak, Military College Sui’s Muhammad Talha Jarrar, Cadet College Pishin’s Muhammad Haroon and Abdul Basit, and Cadet College Qilla Saifullah’s Muhimullah, Muhammad Adnan and Shahid Khan.

Tension subsides as professors agree to ‘supervise’ exams

In districts achieving prominent positions in the Class IX results, 86 per cent were males while 85 per cent were females, who participated from Turbat.
In Loaralai, 78 per cent were males and 87 per cent females, 80 per cent males and 78 per cent females from Khuzdar, 88 per cent males and 96 per cent females from Khuzdar, 75 per cent males and 84 per cent females from Quetta. In Class X, males and females had 98 per cent participation from Turbat, 95 per cent males and 58 per cent females from Loralai, 95 per cent males and 94 per cent females from Khuzdar, 95 per cent males and 98 per cent females from Dera Murad Jamali, 95 per cent males and 95 per cent females from Quetta.
At the press conference, Board Chairman Dr Siraj Ahmed Kakar, Secretary Shaukat Suprah and Controller Examination Abdullah Shah Gharshain said that 42,661 of 52,917 students managed to pass Class IX examinations while 58,627 of 63,105 students remained successful in Class X exams.

8,000 education department vacancies awaiting CM’s nod

The board chairman said that Balochistan board has acquired precedence over other boards by announcing results in one month and 27 days.
To a question regarding the success of Loralai students, Kakar said, “In most districts of Balochistan, there is one teacher for 70 students, while in Loralai seven students have one teacher.”
He said that thousands of rupees were being spent on education of students enrolled at institutions in Loralai.
“The zero-tolerance policy for cheating will remain intact in Balochistan,” he said.
