Censure: JUI-F member criticises US, government

Says nothing would change because a similar resolution was passed two years ago and did nothing to halt drone attacks.

SUKKUR:
Senator Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, who is the central secretary general of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), declared on Thursday that the day US forces raided a house in Abbottabad was a blemish on the history of Pakistan.

He spoke at a press conference on Thursday to dismiss the US operation to kill Osama bin Laden as a mere “drama” staged by America to portray Pakistan as a terrorist state to the world community and to unleash the wrath of pro-Bin Laden forces within Pakistan. The senator commented on the in-camera session of parliament held after the operation.

He asserted that even though the government had been asked to review its relationship with the US, nothing would change because a similar resolution was passed two years ago and did nothing to halt drone attacks.
