CTP Facebook page upgraded, one-wheelers face action

RAWALPINDI: Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Bilal Ifthikar on Monday said that motorists must display patience and avoid rash driving specially at Iftar time during the holy month of Ramazan.

“People want to reach their destinations on time, but this race can lead to fatal accidents,” he said. The CTO directed wardens not leave their points during Iftar time.

A control room had been set up in the Race CourseTraffic Headquarter, he added.

Meanwhile, the City Traffic Police (CTP) Education Wing has urged people to visit its Facebook page for information regarding traffic rules and road safety.

Security beefed up during Ramazan

CTP has updated its page facebook.com/ctprwp to sensitise people about traffic rules and road safety. The CTO said awareness pamphlets are being distributed among the road users during special traffic awareness campaign.

The CTO advised students to visit CTP's social media Facebook page to
get information about traffic rules.

The page has all the information about traffic guidance, awareness, driving licenses, learning permits, traffic updates, precautionary measures to avoid road accidents, information for motorcyclists, risks involved in one-wheeling, parking another rules and what should be the role of the parents.

The citizens can give their feedback and proposals on the page, he added.

These daredevil bikers show off skills in one-wheeling and stunts like riding lying down on the seat while changing gears with hands. However, such deadly sports are in defiance of law therefore, CTO Iftikhar said eight people have been booked for traffic violations.
