Speaking at a news conference on Monday, the PTI spokesperson appreciated the government for placing Durrani’s name on Exit Control List (ECL) but said the same rule should be applied to Sharif too.
“Like Durrani, Sharif also violated his oath and put the country’s image at stake,” said Chaudhry as he asked the federal government to take action against the former prime minister under Pakistan Official Secret Act and put his name on the ECL.
The PTI spokesperson also congratulated Justice (retd) Nasirul Mulk on being named the caretaker prime minister and lauded him as a respectable name of the country and a suitable choice for the slot.
“Justice [retd] Mulk is well aware about rigging in 2013 general election. Now time will prove how effectively he plays his role in conducting free and fair elections,” he maintained while highlighting that Justice Mulk had headed the judicial commission formed to investigate the 2013 polls riggings.
Federal govt not ready to place Sharif’s family on ECL
Fawad further added that in 2015, PTI accepted findings of the judicial commission that rejected the allegations of planned rigging in 2013 general elections.
“We hope that the caretaker prime minister would be able to come up to the expectations of the nation by holding free, fair and transparent elections.”, he said adding Chairman PTI also extends his best wishes to the former chief justice.
Speaking about the ‘mega corruption’ in Punjab government companies, Chaudhry said corruption worth more than Rs166 billion had been unveiled in 11 of the 56 companies and names of PML-N leaders like Zaeem Qadri, Awais Leghari, Khawaja Ahmad Hassaan and Khawaja Asif’s had been listed for corruption.
“Now it is the responsibility of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and upcoming government to take action against them,” he said, adding that on coming to power, the PTI government would conduct a third-party audit of all projects in Punjab to measure the quantum of corruption.

The PTI spokesperson also claimed that former finance minister Ishaq Dar had said that Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Finance Minister Miftah Ismail had ruined the economy.
Responding to a question, he said that Manzoor Afridi’s name was circulating in media as caretaker chief minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), but the government did not make any announcement as party chairman Imran Khan had rejected his name. A new name, he added, would be finalised after consultations. (With additional input by Danish Hussain)
