During the initial course of interrogations, the accused revealed that Naveed and Shahzeb accused him of having illicit relations with the injured woman and threatened to approach the police to have him arrested.
He said that Naveed had given him his pistol and when he returned the weapon, Naveed told him to recite his prayers as he was going to kill him. The accused told the police that he offered resistance during the incident, causing the gun to fire. He claimed it was an accident and that he did not intend to kill anyone.
