Dumped in a ditch: Former MQM-Pakistan worker shot dead in Karachi

Incident's FIR has yet to be registered

HYDERABABD: A former Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) - Pakistan zonal incharge of Ghotki district was found shot dead in Thatta district on Saturday.

Rana Irshad Ahmed Rajput, 36, was shot four times and his body was dumped in a ditch in Jherruk within the limits of the A-section police station.

The slain person was identified with the help of his national identity card. The body was handed over to the family after a postmortem investigation was conducted.

Dilshad Rajput, the victim's brother, told the media that Irshad had been visiting Karachi. The deceased had contacted his family Friday afternoon and informed them that he would leave Karachi for Ghotki in the evening. Later, Dilshad added, his brother's phone remained switched off.

He claimed that Irshad did not have any known enemies and that he had also resigned from the party. The incident's FIR has not been registered so far.
