LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) gears up to celebrate Yaum-e-Takbeer on May 28th to mark the day when Pakistan became nuclear power, according to party sources.

The main ceremony would be held in Lahore, which would be presided by the PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif, it added.

According to the sources, PML-N has always celebrated Yaum-e-Takbeer when on May 28, 1998 the then premier Nawaz Sharif went ahead with the decision of testing country’s nuclear arsenal in Chaghai, Balochistan and made Pakistan an atomic power.

In the wake of recent political scenario they said this time around there is also another objective for the celebrations. They said PML-N founding member Nawaz Sharif was under fire for recently giving a controversial interview which in the eyes of some, tarnished our country’s image globally and benefited anti Pakistan narrative.

They highlighted people of the country should know, contrary to the propaganda against Nawaz Sharif, a person who had made Pakistan an atomic power would never say or do anything against country’s interest. They added Nawaz Sharif is a true patriot, who has always served the country.
