Brad Pitt leveraged all his fame, power to protect me from Harvey Weinstein: Gwyneth Paltrow
Actor recalls how ex-fiance confronted Weinstein for making a pass on her
Gwyneth Paltrow may now be happily engaged to Brad Falchuk but once upon a time, the Iron Man starlet was engaged to be married to none other than Hollywood hottie Brad Pitt. Their highly publicised love affair first began in 1994 but unfortunately, ended in 1997 three years later.
But despite the break up, Gwyneth still credits her ex-fiance for risking his fame and having her back against Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein back in the day, reported Pinkvilla. She is just one of the many women – celebrities and non-celebrities – who have accused Harvey of sexual harassment.
I had what I thought was a happy marriage: Harvey Weinstein's estranged wife
Gwyneth got candid about the entire episode involving Brad, Harvey and her while appearing on The Howard Stern Show recently. "We had one instance in a hotel room where Harvey tried to...where he made a pass at me. I really kind of stood up to him, I told my boyfriend at the time, Brad Pitt," she narrated.
Digging further into the showdown Brad had with Harvey, Gwyneth revealed, "We were at the opening of Hamlet on Broadway. Ralph Fiennes was in Hamlet and Harvey was there, and Brad, it was like the equivalent of throwing him against the wall, you know, energetically."
She continued, "It was so fantastic because what he did was, he leveraged his fame and power to protect me, at a time when I didn't have fame or power yet. It was… it was fantastic! He's a good person. And Harvey was never inappropriate with me again.”
It makes perfect sense now that it would be Brad's production company Plan B, and Annapurna Pictures, that will be producing a movie based on the New York Times' stellar coverage on Harvey’s sexual harassment story.
