Teachers’ training concludes at Emerson College

113 newly inducted male and female lecturers given professional induction training

MULTAN: The 12-day training of professors of South Punjab concluded at Government Emerson College Multan on Monday.

At least 113 newly inducted male and female lecturers of grade 17 belonging to Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur and Multan were given professional induction training before entering into the government service.

Multan Division Commissioner Bilal Ahmad Butt appreciated the initiative taken by Punjab Higher Education Commission.

While addressing the concluding ceremony, he said that professional training was mandatory for the growth and stability of any institution. He said, “Our education system has not borne any fruitful results because teachers are not trained professionally.”  He advised the trainees to develop the habit of book reading.

“It is necessary for a teacher to equip himself with updated knowledge of not only of his own subject but with the overall general knowledge,” he added.

Butt said that PHEC had set an excellent precedent and positive results could be achieved in the field of education by giving regular in-job training.
