"The PML-N will contest the 2018 elections from across Sindh," he said, adding that the party's leadership felt buoyed by the recent warm welcome which was given at rallies and public meetings to party president Shehbaz Sharif.
He contended that the people of Sindh admire the Sharif-led development in Punjab and want similar development in their province. "In the coming days some important political figures from Sindh will join PML-N," he claimed without sharing the names of those politicians. However, he hinted that some dismayed former Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) politicians are already in negotiations with his party.

Mashhood blamed the PPP's Sindh government for exploiting the province and its people during last 10 years of its continuous rule. He specially pointed out the malaise confronted by the sugar cane and wheat farmers in Sindh.
Commenting on the acute shortage of irrigation and drinking water in Sindh, the minister argued that India rather than the federal or Punjab governments are responsible for the situation. He said India is constructing news dams to store water that belonged to Pakistan.
