In 2017, customers lodged several complaints regarding overbilling of millions of rupees by GEPCO. Similarly, Sui Northern Gas Company has also sent bills exceeding by thousands of rupees to its customers.

While taking action on complaints lodged by citizens, the FIA has formed a technical team to look after such matters and take action against the officers responsible for overbilling.

Officials maintained that stern action without discrimination.

While speaking to Express News, FIA Deputy Director Mufakhir Adeel said, “Unbiased action will be taken against the officials for overbilling consumers.”
