Target killings: Journalists to go on strike on 21st

Journalists of Peshawar and tribal areas condemn killing of their colleague, Nasrullah who died in a bomb explosion.

The journalists community of Peshawar and the tribal areas will hold a protest rally to condemn the killing of their colleague, Nasrullah who died in a bomb explosion.


According to a press release, the protest rally has been planned by Khyber Union of Journalist, Tribal Union of Journalist, Peshawar Press Club and SAFMA.

The rally will be held in front of Peshawar Press Club on Sher Shah Suri road at 11:30 am, adds the press release.

Nasrullah, a correspondent for PTV and Daily Mashriq in Khyber Agency, died in a bomb blast in Khyber Super Market last week.

According to a home department report, the killing of Nasrullah was targeted. The assassins had planted a bomb beneath his car, which was parked in Khyber Super Market.

As the ill fated journalist boarded his car after finishing office work, the terrorists blew up the explosive via remote control.

The journalist community, while expressing extreme condemnation over the killing of Nasrullah, are demanding proper compensation for his family and asking the government to provide better protection to newsmen.
