Justice Khan’s murder: Main suspect given in 4-day police remand

Trial court hands over main suspect in former AG's murder case in police remand for four days.

ISLAMABAD:

A trial court on Tuesday handed over the main suspect in the murder case of former Attorney General and Judge Peshawar High Court (PHC) Sardar Khan in police remand for four days.

Khan was killed in June 2009. Roohullah, the suspect, was arrested by police in Oman on Monday. He was brought back to Islamabad through a Pakistan International Airlines flight. Roohullah had fled to Afghanistan and then Dubai, where he was arrested. From there he escaped to Oman after getting bail from a Dubai court.

He travelled on forged documents prepared by his cousin Fazal Ahmed, police said. Police teams were sent to various areas of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) and other districts and raids were conducted in the jurisdictions of various police stations of K-P. The police said they are trying to locate and arrest other suspects.
